SDES Reconsidered is happening. The vision of embracing our roles as educators and building a collaborative learning organization is becoming a reality. The Creed is coming off the wall-becoming more than a framed statement in all of our classrooms and offices. Integrity, Scholarship, Community, Creativity, and Excellence are the heart and soul of our work with UCF students. I am very committed to the process that we are undertaking to Reconsider SDES and strengthen our commitment to empower students to make meaning of these core values that guide our conduct, performance, and decisions. This process is designed to help us identify ways that all of us in the division impact student success. I want to assure you that it is not intended as a tool for performance evaluations.
I am asking you as members of SDES to actively participate in this endeavor. You make a difference in our success and I appreciate your involvement in the process. SDES units have been represented in crafting the vision of SDES Reconsidered. Those leaders as well as Learning Guides, who have been assigned to each office, may serve as a resource for your understanding and participation.
In addition to active involvement crafting student learning outcomes for your unit, another way to express your thoughts and become part of this important conversation is to participate in the SDES Reconsidered Blog. You will soon be receiving an invitation via email from Blogger.com to join the Blog. If you do not receive your invitation, or if you have questions, please email Angela Martinez at ammartin@mail.ucf.edu.
Thanks for your support,
Maribeth
