Mrs. Belinda Higgs Hyppolite has worked as a professional in Higher Education for 19 years, serving in a variety of leadership roles and responsibilities. Mrs. Hyppolite started in Student Affairs working on retention efforts for at-risk students and working with residential student within Housing and Residential Life. Mrs. Hyppolite has supported and advocated for a number of student populations such as fraternity and sorority students, multicultural, low-income, first-generation, foster care, religious and non-religious students. Mrs. Hyppolite has worked in Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Greek Life, and Multicultural Affairs and has and continues to support and confront social justice issues plaguing student success. Belinda is an Assistant Vice President for Student Development and Enrollment Services at the University of Central Florida and has been a member of the UCF Family since 2004. Mrs. Hyppolite provides support to the functional area of Student Engagement and Leadership Development (SELD), but directly supports Religion and Non-Religious Services, Social Justice and Advocacy Department, and the Multicultural Academic Support Services Departments. Belinda serves as the Divisional Diversity and Inclusion liaison and provides leadership to the University Bias Incidents Team and Dream US Scholars program. Mrs. Hyppolite has served as an adjunct-professor for the Burnett Honors College since fall 2014, and facilitates leadership, diversity and inclusion, and oppression reduction workshops. She has presented at numerous local, regional, and national conference on various topics. Mrs. Hyppolite is the wife to her amazing husband James Williams Hyppolite and proud mother to a very active Zahara Boston 10-year old daughter, and two bonus children Brandon Hyppolite age 16 and Sarah Hyppolite age 20. Mrs. Hyppolite holds two Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Speech Pathology, and two Master’s degrees in Counseling Education and Human Resources. Mrs. Hyppolite is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education with a specialization in Professional Leadership, Transformation, and Inquiry from Concordia University-Portland.
