This past week, Memory Mall transformed into the inaugural Campus Swap Shop. UCF Sustainability Initiatives encouraged citizens of UCF to gather clean clothes and used goods and bring their donated items to swap for other gifted goods. All unclaimed items were donated to the Knights Helping Knights Pantry.

More than 100 swap shoppers perused items from more than 50 donors. Altogether, UCF donated 43 pounds of food and nearly 160 pounds of clothing, toiletries and household goods. The event and its volunteers serve as a reminder to limit waste and to reuse resources whenever possible.

Partners such as the UCF Arboretum, Wellness and Health Promotion Services, and UCF Cares encouraged students to take time during their hectic schedules to relax, while the Recreation and Wellness Center and Housing and Residence Life helped organize donated items.

The eleven event partners include: UCF Housing, Campus Peace Action UCF, UCF Outdoor Adventure, UCF Recreation and Wellness Center, UCF Arboretum, Volunteer UCF, UCF Cares, Pride Student Association at UCF, Healthy Knight – UCF Wellness & Health Promotion Services, IDEAS For Us – UCF, and Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association, Inc.
