A veteran’s military service may come with a variety of strengths and challenges. If you would like to become more “veteran-friendly,” please attend the Veterans Education Training and Support (V.E.T.S.) workshop on November 16, 2017. The workshop will be held in the Barbara Ying Center from 1-4 p.m. (1300 hrs. to 1600 hrs.).

UCF has approximately 1,400 student veterans currently studying at UCF (2% of our total enrollment), the potential of interacting with a veteran is likely.

This three-hour workshop will explore military culture and some of the challenges student veterans may face (e.g., readjusting from the military, mental health, etc.).

The session, led by Dr. Bryan Batien, Mental Health Psychologist at the Orlando VA Medical Center and members of the Veterans Academic Resource Center, will discuss tips and strategies for working with student veterans. All attendees will receive a Veteran & Military Friendly sticker, a notebook of materials and a certificate of completion.
