What do James Bond, Spy Kids, Austin Powers, and more than 200 student and staff member committed to holistic well-being have in common? They were all part of the 2018-2019 Recreation and Wellness Center and Wellness and Health Promotion Services Annual End of the Year Awards Banquet. RWC and WHPS professional staff members annually honor the top students in facilities and program areas for the students’ roles in helping UCF students commit to healthy lifestyle.  Spies were the theme of the annual awards show. Nearly 20 students received honors for their work in RWC and WHPS program areas, facilities, and special commitment to diversity, wellness, and team development. Executive Director of Rec and Wellness, Jim Wilkening, honored Members Services Lead, Sasha Mincey, as RWC Student Employee of the Year.  Some other key award winners included:

  • Tyler Specht, Wellness and Health Promotion Services Employee of the Year
  • Andrew Ferguson, RWC Facilities Employee of the Year
  • Samantha Adamson, RWC Programs Employee of the Year

Later this year, the RWC, WHPS, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), and Student Health Services (SHS) will combine efforts for an integrative approach to wellness at the new RWC Downtown when the UCF-Valencia downtown campus opens in late August.
