This week, students, faculty, and staff came together to celebrate the important role diversity and inclusion plays in making UCF one of the best universities in the nation.

Taste of UCF is a day of cultural performances, dance, exhibits, music, and food from around the world. This year’s theme – Passport to Culture – focused on promoting cultural awareness and understanding.

“Above all, we value and celebrate diversity and inclusiveness at UCF,” said Maribeth Ehasz, Ph.D., vice president for student development and enrollment services. “The Taste of UCF is a celebration of our rich cultures, experiences, and traditions. It brings us together as one and reflects the power of our scale and our diversity.”

The event was supported by 31 SDES volunteers, representing nine offices. The 3,650 attendees enjoyed special performances by Sala South Hawaiian Group, RUCKUS and Sports Club Council.

Taste of UCF is presented by the UCF Multicultural Student Center. The MSC’s mission is to create a more inclusive and equitable campus environment that enriches the university experience through actively supporting diverse and intentional programming. The MSC strives to promote awareness, strengthen cultural competency and social responsibility by encouraging the educational exploration and challenge of societal norms that enables students to explore the varied concepts of multiculturalism.
