UCF Celebrates LGBTQ+ History Month

This year marks the 6th annual celebration of LGBTQ+ History Month. The celebration is throughout October for faculty, staff, students and community members.

The Division of Student Development and Enrollment Services and Office of Social Justice and Advocacy will host a series of events to celebrate, reflect and educate the campus community. The events include:

  • Oct. 3: LGBTQ+ Opening Ceremony
    • Individuals speaking:
      • Codie Frank (UCF LGBTQ+ Services coordinator)
      • Stanley Swindling (co-president, UCF Pride Student Association)
      • Joe Sanders (senior political director, Equality Florida)
      • UCF Glee Club
      • Nathaniel Hernandez (director, Trans Inclusion, UCF Pride Student Association)
      • Gina Duncan (director, Transgender Equality at Equality Florida)
  • Oct. 11: National Coming Out Day
  • Oct 14: Come Out with Pride Orlando (sponsored by the Cty of Orlando)
  • Oct 16: Unwritten: LGBTQ+ People in the Media
  • Oct. 18: What Would Happen Here? LGBTQ+ Mental Health
  • Oct. 19:“True Tea” with Kat Blaque
  • Oct. 24: Safe Zone: LGBTQ+ 101
