VARC Program Coordinator Receives Service Award


Joshua “JJ” Johnson received Region 4’s NACADA Joyce C. Jackson Service Award

Joshua “JJ” Johnson, Program Coordinator for the Veterans Academic Resource Center (VARC) received Region 4’s National Academic Advising (NACADA) Joyce C. Jackson Service Award at the 34th Annual NACADA Region 4 Conference in Mobile, Alabama on Wednesday, March 13, 2019.  Joshua was recognized for his volunteer service and leadership to the Region since 2013 in various positions, most recently as Region 4 Chair from 2014–2016.  JJ also served the Region 4 Steering Committee Immediate Past Region Chair (2016–2018) and Region’s Historian.  JJ continues to assist NACADA and the Region by serving on the Annual Conference Review Advisory Board and the Strategic Leadership Advisory Board at the NACADA National level.

The Joyce C. Jackson Service Award is presented to a Region 4 NACADA member for their volunteer service to Region 4 and to NACADA.  NACADA’s Region 4 consist of academic advisors and those who have advising related duties from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and Caribbean Nations.
