Dr. Sharon Ekern

Dr. Sharon L. Ekern has worked in higher education at the University of Central Florida since 1990 in a variety of roles and responsibilities. Prior to joining UCF, Dr. Ekern served close to nine years as a United States Marine in San Diego, Orlando, and Hawaii. Dr. Ekern began her career at UCF in Procurement Services, transferring to Student Development and Enrollment Services in 1999 to become the Director in Student Government. She currently serves as the Associate Vice President of Administration and Student Life working with UCF Housing and Residence Life, the Student Union, Recreation and Wellness. Dr. Ekern also has oversight of the division’s human and fiscal resources, as well as space planning. Dr. Ekern received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a Master’s degree in Public Administration, and a Doctor of Education. She has also raised three sons that she is most proud of!
